Study on Rural Landscape Construction and Key Ecological Technology in Longnan Mountain Area, China

Abstract: 

Longnan mountainous area , located in the junction of the three provinces of Shanxi ,Sichun and Gansu provinces, with complex terrain conditions, is the only region of Gansu Province which owns Yangtae River and a subtropical climate. At the same time, Longnan is the birthplace of Qin culture, and The Qiang community,where cultural connotation is very rich. So it is also known as “areas south of the Yangtae River in gansu, and Hometown of Legendary Ruler Fuxi”. However, with the rapid urbanization process and extreme desire for economic improvement, a lot of villages in this region are facing a huge threat including the rapid degradation of the ecological environment, gradually loss of characteristics of the local cultural heritage, the lack of environmental facilities, and destroy of the original rural ecosystem and traditional villages Style pattern.
This paper presents a case study of Liuping Village of Longnan mountainous area, which is listed in “Beautiful Village of China” and owns Geographical Product Logo of China for its high quality peaches. First, this paper explores the characteristics and evolution of the rural landscape pattern, planning layout, the traditional rammed earth construction techniques and architectural style agricultural landscape, health environment, and analyzes its problems and the reason. Second, this paper applies the Scenic Beauty Estimation Method and the scene visualization technology to generate different landscape images, and employs participatory assessment method to obtain rural landscape aesthetics preference information. Third, based on landscape metrics analysis this paper analyzes patch density, edge density, conducts the evaluation of landscape pattern and concludes some optimization strategy of rural ecological landscape pattern. At last, this paper also provide vital clues about development direction of ecological rural industry, and offer recommendations to create rural culture experience and develops the village into a historical, ecological, and cultural settlement with comprehensive tourism services.
